Percy Jackson , The Lighting Thief

It is a book about a boy named Percy Jackson who finds out that he is a demigod, half god, half human. He gets taken to a camp where everyone is a demigod. He gets educated in the history of gods and finds out that the big three, Zeus, Poisedon and Hades made a pact to never have children again as their children had such powers that it would be dangerous to the world for them to exist. He goes through training and finds that he is an exceptional swordsman. Demigods are put into different cabins according to their parents ( on the god side). No god claimed Percy for a few weeks when one night after making a river rise up and attack an opponent. That night when he made his offerings to the gods a trident formed out of smoke then evapourated. He was a son of Poisedon. One of the big three. He is then accused of helping his father steal Zeus' lighting bolt. He leads a quest into the under world to propve his innocence. This novel was very gripping and exciting as I like fantasy. It was also very informative and taught me a lot about the Greek gods. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes fanasty. I found the book so brilliant and full of cliff hangers that I read it for 2 days straight until I had finished it. Once it was finished I went out and bought the sequel!
